We were a recent recipient of a $1.2M grant from the National
Cancer Institute to support our work in Optics for Life™!
Reporting
to the Founder/CEO of OTI, the successful candidate will create
a new venture to commercialize OTI’s proprietary technology in the
area of in-vivo, real-time, optical cancer detection. The technology
is based on the principle of elastic scattering spectroscopy, and
has produced excellent results in human studies in the colon, esophagus,
and other organ systems. Primary responsibilities will be to:
Organize entity
Obtain seed funding
Perform market research to identify the best
initial and follow-on applications for the technology
Refine IP, reimbursement, and regulatory strategies
Work with OTI staff to develop a product roadmap
Identify channel partners and establish distribution
Build a clinical advisory board
Coalesce all of this information into an investment-grade
business plan
Shop the plan to strategic and/or VC investors
Close financing
Establish facilities
Build the team
Execute the plan
Obtain FDA clearance
Lead the company to exit by merger or acquisition
Experience:
10+ years in medical devices
Track record of leading successful
startup(s) in medical devices
Strong investor Rolodex (strategic
investors in the medical device space preferred)
Compensation:
Equity position
Compensation commensurate with experience and
accomplishments.

Reporting
to the Sales Manager, the successful candidate will drive revenue
and business growth through the identification, pursuit, and closing
of new opportunities in the company’s LED Illumination
business. Primary responsibilities will include:
Identify, qualify, and develop leads
Draft proposals in collaboration with R&D
Lead engineering development of customer-specific
products
Ensure that new products meet customer requirements
Maintain and service customer accounts
Required
Experience and Qualifications:
BA/BS in ME, EE, Optics, Physics,
or comparable program
Minimum of 5 years in engineering,
technical sales, and/or product development
Appreciation and active interest in
building account relationships
Outstanding interpersonal and communication
skills in a cross-functional team environment (verbal and written),
especially in preparing client proposals
Entrepreneurial spirit, outgoing personality,
customer-centered philosophy
Resourcefulness and persistence in
dealing with prospects, clients, and project contributors
Desired
Qualifications:
MS preferred; MBA valuable
Majority of experience at life science companies
preferred, especially experience with medical devices and/or laboratory
instruments.
Knowledge of optics, especially biomedical
optics
Knowledge of ACT Contact Relationship Management
(CRM) software program
Experience in manufacturing environments
Some exposure to clinical and operating room
practices
